HIDDEN PICTURES is a ground-breaking feature documentary on global mental health. While over 400 million people worldwide have a mental health problem WHO we rarely hear these peoples' stories. Filmmaker, Delaney Ruston grew up under the shadow of her dad's illness, schizophrenia. While recon-necting with him after years of estrangement, Delaney became curious about the experiences of other families globally. How are people accepted or rejected? What is mental health care like? Who is helping? In HIDDEN PICTURES Delaney takes us on her journey to answer these questions, uncovering deeply personal stories in India, China, South Africa, France, and the US. What emerges are scenes of profound frustration, along with moments of true compassion. Ultimately we witness the force of change that individuals are bringing about, including actress Glenn Close and her family's movement to fight stigma.
